I currently have 3 Laptops in my home. The first one is IBM ThinkPad R31. I bought it from my friend about 8 years ago. Its specification consists of the following parts:
Processor : Intel Celeron 1.13 GHz
Installed Memory : 128 MB (SDRAM)
Operating System : Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Installed Cache Memory : 256 KB
About two years ago it seemed a little bit bad because the poor performance of the CPU and the RAM was not enough and I encountered frequent paging. My memory needed upgrade and then I spent too much time to find used RAM and bought it. Today I use the keywords “Laptop memory upgrade” to see whether it’s easy to find. I found PRO Memory Upgrade supports SDRAM Memory Upgrades. Wow! It’s awesome!
The second one is Compaq Presario 1700T. I bought it from a colleague of mine from the office approximately 5 years ago. We also know in 2001 Compaq engaged in a merger with Hewlett-Packard. But 3 years ago I came across it with a broken keyboard and I did not have a replacement keyboard parts available for purchase. So I bid 1500 dollars for the used keyboard. And recently, a new problem developed. Every a few minutes or so, the laptop will stop working, and then start again in a few seconds. I guess this is the memory problem and I think my laptop memory need to be replaced.
The third one is MSI Megabook S271. I bought it at 2007. It is one of the first to use AMD’s new dual-core Turion 64 X2 processor. Featuring a 12″ aluminum-magnesium alloy chassis with a WXGA LCD, the S271 is equipped with the AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-50. The TL-50 is the lowest-grade Turion 64 X2 processor running at 1.6GHz with only 2x256KB L2 cache. Despite the low end CPU, the S271 performs most tasks with ease, with the exception of 3D intensive tasks due to its ATI Xpress 200M integrated graphics card. I very loved this one and I installed much software on it. So recently I feel very slow and then I want to buy new one. I prefer a new mac notebook because I want to develop iphone programs. I do not know this kind of the laptops well. How many mac notebook memory can a laptop take? This is very difficult for me to purchase a new mac notebook.
